Top 50 Russian Bloggers: Official Project Kick-Off
On July 19 the Digital October Center hosted LiveJournal marketing director Oleg Barmin and SmartNews editor-in-chief Sergey Yakovlev as they release their newest project, “The Top 50 Influential Bloggers in Russia,” discussing the state of journalism in Russia with the experts invited to the program, as well as the role regions play in putting together an overall daily informational picture of the country.
Well-known Moscow LiveJournal authors and ambassadors from Samara, Omsk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, and St. Petersburg also were in attendance.
“The Top 50 Influential Bloggers in Russia” was created in order to draw the attention of the Russian internet community to internet journal authors outside of the capital, and to the fact that they are on equal footing with their counterparts in Moscow.
One result of the project will be a new, voting-based blog rating system. Which journals will be permitted to take part and how long the voting process will take will be revealed at the presentation.
