Moscow International Financial Center Strategic Session

Project Roadmap was drafted at the Moscow International Financial Center Strategic Session, 16-17 March 2012.

The Strategic Session set priorities for the development of the International Financial Center in Moscow (MIFC). The event drawn major economic experts, heads of leading Russian and international financial companies and government officials who together produced a detailed roadmap of the project.

The MIFC project is aimed to building in Russia a financial market that will be both well-adjusted to the needs of the national economy and globally competitive. The effort is supported by the business community, state officials and science experts.

The plenary session of the event was dedicated to international financial center expertise. The discussion featured the key MIFC development plan factors — including global market trends, risks and outlook, Russian corporations’ financial strategies.

The Strategic Session workgroups drafted proposals for a number of MIFC project branches: legislation, mechanisms of the project’s development, private investors, tech innovations, city infrastructure renovation and social development, MIFC strategic marketing. The closing plenary session featured reports by workgroup moderators Andrey Sharonov, Gor Nakhapetyan, Alexey Timofeev, Vagan Vardanyan, Viatchelav Pivovarov, Albert Eganyan, Bulat Stolyarov.

The Strategic Session summary was presented by Anton Siluanov, Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Pankin, Head of Russian Federal Service for Financial Markets, and Alexander Voloshin, Head of MIFC Taskforce.
