The Psychology of Sexuality: Culture’s Role

On November 25th, the Digital October Center will play host to a lecture entitled, “The Psychology of Sexuality: Culture’s Role”, which take place as part of the Popular Lectorium project sponsored by Popular Mechanics.

Is there something about sexuality that you’d like to know, but have been too afraid to ask? How does the reproductive function translate into sexuality? What is the psychological nature of erotica and pornography? How are sexuality and power connected? How have sexual taboos changed throughout the course of human history? What caused the sexual revolution? What is normal, and what cultural forms of sexual pathology exist in modern society?

Speaker: Ilya Pluzhnikov, Ph.D. in Psychology, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neuro- and Abnormal Psychology at the Psychology Faculty of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
