Can Russian Online Education be Monetized?
On March 20th, founders of educational projects, investors, university representatives, and other business day participants will gather at the Digital October Center to answer an important question: is it possible to turn a profit from online educational resources in Russia? If so, how can it be done?
This event is a collaboration between RusBase, a venture capital investment media resource, and BeSmart.net, the first Russian platform to allow any Internet user to make money using his own skills and know-how.
Event organizers are certain that the monetization of online education is the most relevant problem currently facing the industry: “The online educational market is starting to gain momentum. But, as was always the case, the issue of monetization is key. Which is why we’re putting together a conference dedicated not so much to the educational technologies themselves, but to making a profit by using them. Because a lot of how this sector will evolve in the future depends on that.” (Alexander Vulfovich, acting director of BeSmart.net)
The EdTech Russia 2014 program will be divided into three sections:
- during the first two, you’ll learn all about industry statistics, business models, and life-hacks. Company founders and investors will share their experiences and analyze various cases, while young market players will present their latest projects;
- as part of the evening’s “Open Mic” section, event goers will have the opportunity to talk to experts and discuss the issues that are close to their hearts.
Maksim Potashev, financial analyst and head of BeSmart.net’s advisory board, will participate in the conference.
You can learn more about the program and its participants on the conference’s web site.
