National traditions in contemporary dress
On June 25, the Department of Interregional Cooperation, Nationalities Policy, and links with Religious Organizations of Moscow and the TORG group of companies will hold a lecture at Digital October on the national traditions of tailoring clothes, contemporary trends in the use of ethnic elements in clothing, and the influence of the traditions of the peoples that inhabit Russia on the development of contemporary dress.
The lecture will be led by instructors from one of Moscow’s institutes of culture and several of the city’s institutions of higher education specializing in teaching design, representatives of the Association of High Fashion and Prêt-a-Porter, the Russian Museum of Fashion, and the Valentin Yudashkin fashion house. Lecturers will include teachers from the S.G. Stroganov Moscow State Artistic-Industrial Academy, the Technology and Design Department of the Russian State University of Tourism and, the Moscow State University of Design and Technology, the M.A. Sholokhov State Humanitarian University, and RSUH.
Five representatives of the fashion industry from various Russian regions — designers of regional fashion houses and fashion studios — will participate in the lecture as special guests. All in all, the number of presenters and lecturers will come to 50 people.
