Oxford Chicago Valuation Program

November 28, 2013, 19:00 seminar

The valuation of a company, asset or investment is a vital factor in many decisions, from selling off part of a family firm, privatising a national industry, raising finance for a project or infrastructure acquisition or deciding where to invest a pension or private equity fund.

Common techniques can provide a guide to a figure, but are often imperfect when applied to real transactions. How to go beyond the basic methods of valuation to explore the real life complicating factors was the scope of this evening seminar on November 28 at the Digital October Center.

It was also the scope of a new executive education program jointly designed by The University of Oxford‘s Saïd Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

This short seminar was a valuable learning opportunity in its own right, providing an opportunity to learn more about the executive education programmes of the two leading schools in finance and to network with alumni and corporate partners of both schools.
