Tizen Hackathon

July 11 – 12, 2014, 09:30 hackathon

The 10th Anniversary Tizen Hackathon will take place in the Small Auditorium of the Digital October Center on July 11th and 12th. The hackathon will take place under the auspices of the FRUCT Association in partnership with the Tizen Developer Summit, and will feature the participation of specialists from Intel and Samsung (use the promo code “fruct”).

Tizen is a programming platform that uses open source code and is supported by leading mobile operators, device manufacturers, and purveyors of microelectronics. Since April, Tizen has done a brisk trade in selling wearable gadgets, and, soon, it will begin marketing the long-awaited Samsung Z smartphone. The Tizen platform offers a flexible medium for developing applications based on HTML5 and native technologies.

Hackathon participants will be given two days to develop their projects into a working prototype. Participation in the hackathon will provide you with a unique opportunity to get ahead of the curve and to be amongst the first developers to have their applications available for purchase in the Tizen store. Additionally, you will receive experience and consultations as you get your application ready to participate in the global Gear App Challenge and the Russian Tizen App Challenge.

In order to fully participate in the hackathon, you’ll need a laptop that satisfies the minimum system requirements, and it is highly recommended that you install the appropriate version of Tizen SDK beforehand. It is also vital to familiarize yourself with SDK before the start of the hackathon: you can do this at the Tizen Developer Summit, which will take place on July 10th. Each participant who registers on this website will receive a flash drive with a full package of software designed for Tizen-based development, as well as various souvenirs.

The hackathon’s prize pool adds up to 100,000 rubles (including taxes). You can find more detailed information and register for the hackathon here.
