In Search of Emotional Balance

Participants in the “Balancing Your Emotions” seminar, which will take place on March 16th at the Digital October Center, will learn how to keep their emotions in check and protect themselves from outbursts of negativity.

The seminar will occur as part of the “Cognitive Introspection” series, which is aimed at promoting self-awareness through the development of cognitive and metacognitive skills.

This event will be hosted by Igor Berkhin, author of meditation courses both on- and offline. He has been teaching the application of ancient Buddhist practices in modern life for over ten years.

He will offer a series of short, interconnected exercises that will help attendees learn to control their emotional states. During this seminar, you’ll learn how various emotional reactions affect our behavior and perceptions, how they are reflected in our physical health, and what to do when your emotions start to control your life.

Course attendees will learn how to:

  • maintain their emotional balance in the face of negative forces;
  • take advantage of the strong sides of an emotion and eliminate their detrimental effects;
  • quickly defuse severe agitation and distance themselves from painful memories;
  • deliberately call up positive emotions.
