Bo Parker. Megatrends: Shaping the future

October 21, 2011, 19:00 lecture

On October 21st, Bo Parker, managing director of PricewaterhouseCoopers, delivered a lecture at the Digital October Center on “Megatrends: Shaping the Future”. The lecture is part of the “Technology Trends” series of the Knowledge Stream project (read about the first two project events here and here).

Bo Parker heads the Center for Technology and Innovation at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Silicon Valley. The Center conducts research on the development of new technologies, identifies new trends, and forecasts their impact on corporate activities. Bo provides consultation on new technologies, telecommunications, and web development for major private and government organizations; his publications can be found on the Technology Forecast website.

In today’s world, inventions rapidly succeed one another. What innovations can we expect in the near future? How do technological trends affect business performance? Why do first-time entrepreneurs need to follow the development of new technologies and sense new trends in order to withstand competition? Russian experts invited to the lecture answered these and other questions during the round table that was held in Digital October’s conference hall with representatives from Russian high-tech companies and venture funds: Russian Venture Company CEO Igor Agamirzyan and Yandex Chief of Development Grigory Bakunov (also known as Bobuk).
