On the 5th of April at the Digital October technological center a teleconference with two distinguished residents of Silicon Valley took place: Geoffrey Baehr and Jon Feiber.
Geoffrey and Jon have two decades of experience in successful capital venture investments. Geoffrey is presently on the Board of Directors of six portfolio companies at US Venture Partners, one of the world’s leading venture funds. Jon Feiber is a managing partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, his investment interests are focused on the intersection of developing technologies and large markets, so-called ‘boom projects.’
The lecture was dedicated to the hot issues of investing in new projects. Investors must assess the business team, the market, technologies and other criteria in a specific sequence. Geoffrey and Jon shared these tools with you and told about the five most common mistakes made by businessmen. This lecture was particularly useful for investors and startups, which are in the investment phase.
After the lecture a roundtable discussion by Russian experts took place. Alexander Galitsky participated in this discussion. He is the founder of Almaz Capital, a fund that invests in innovative media and telecommunications companies located in Silicon Valley, Russia, and CIS. In the fund’s investment portfolio are such projects as the Apollo Project, Parallels, Acumatica, and Yandex. Geoffrey Baehr is also an key advisor at this fund.
