May 13 – 15, 2011, 10:00 conference

YAPC Russia 2011 May Perl + Perl Mova, the fourth joint Perl conference in Russia, took place in Moscow on May 13-15.

The conference was organized by Moscow.pm, a group of Moscow Perl programmers. The group has already spent several years leading workshops in Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Tashkent, and Riga, as well as assisting colleagues in Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Vladivostok, Kostonay, and Sofia. More details can be found at Moscow.pm’s sites: http://moscow.pm.org. and http://perlrussia.ru.

The name May Perl is a play on words, referring not just to the timing of the event but also to its main objective: to discuss and hear about what Perl may be used for and where it may be used. Perl Mova is the name of a Ukrainian Perl workshop and means “the language of Perl.” This year the Perl Mova event was combined with the Russian conference in Moscow.

The event was designed for participants of all skill levels. The conference included presentations for both experienced Perl users and for programmers looking to learn about the current state of the language and related technologies.

Keynote Addresses:

  • Konstantin Osipov – Tarantool: A NoSQL Open Source Server‎,
  • Andrei Shitov – What’s New in Perl 5.14
  • Carl Mäsak. ‎Athlete programming
  • Alexei Kapranov – A Single File Program
