2011 BIT Competition Finals
On July 1, the Digital October Center hosted the final round of the Business of Innovation and Technology (BIT) Competition, along with an awards ceremony.
The event was part of a two-day conference on the Art of Going Global, organized by the Digital October Center and Garage Technology Ventures, a venture capital fund, with support from iFree, the BIT Entrepreneurship Competition, and the Russian Venture Company.
This is the eighth time the contest has been held in Russia. In the 2010-2011 season, ten regional and one university competition took place, in addition to the nationwide contest. In 2011, BIT received 680 applications and 53 teams reached the Semifinals.
The twelve best teams presented their projects at the Finals. More than 60 experts served on this year’s jury, including entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, and specialists from international technology companies.
Prior to the awards ceremony, contestants were treated to a talk by special guest Bill Reichert, a partner and managing director at Garage Technology Ventures.
