10th WordPress Moscow Meetup

December 15, 2012, 12:00 meetup

On December 15, the 10th WordPress Meetup — a meeting in which experienced programmers, bloggers, and entrepreneurs shared their experience and discussed problems that come up when working with WordPress — in Moscow was held in the Digital October center.

WordPress is the world’s most popular content-managing system (CMS). It has an open source code and is distributed free of charge under GNU GPL free licensing. WordPress’ users include an array of large brands: Sony, The New York Times, CNN, CBS, and Time, TechCrunch, and Mashable magazines.

WordCamp conferences for users and developers of WordPress are held all over the world, as are friendly WordPress Meetup meetings. The following subjects were illuminated at the tenth meeting in Moscow:

  • What’s new in 3.5.
  • How to develop a theme for WordPress.
  • Work with WordPress on a VPS.
  • HTTP queries with the help of a WordPress API.
